Game 6: Lopez vs. Cobb
Following a LONG flight home, Les Expos returned to Stade Olympique with a new sense
of purpose. Pablo Lopez was sensational, throwing 5 perfect innings to start the game,
and exited with a big lead. The Expos bats continued to perform, chasing Cobb in the
third inning. The elite Expos bullpen do their job and close out the win and the series.
Expos 6, Athletics 2. Expos win the series 4-2.
Thanks to Scott for working around my hectic schedule and playing the entire series in
a single night. This was our third post-season meeting, and Les Expos first series
victory since the 2016 ALCS.
For MVP, I would have to go with RHP Pablo Lopez. His stat line wasn't that impressive,
but we won both of his starts, he provided scoreless innings when we really needed them,
and as our only right-handed starting pitcher (against a righty-heavy opponent and half
my bullpen tired by Game 6), he was clearly the most *valuable* player in the series.
