Game 7: Cobb vs. Bumgarner
We all know what Madison Bumgarner does in Game 7s, right? If not, just ask Deuce. He
would LOVE to tell you all about it. The Expos offense jumped on Cobb early, going up 4-0
in the first before Seattle had even recorded a single out. They wouldn’t score again the
entire game, but didn’t need to. Mariners 1, Expos 4. The Expos win the ALCS, 4 games to 3!
W: Bumgarner (1-1)
L: Cobb (0-1)
S: Rondon (2)
As for series MVP? I should probably go with a pitcher, but since I couldn’t decide between
Bumgarner and Collmenter, I'm going with… CF Leonys Martin! The Mariners could not get
Martin out. He was 2-0 on SB attempts, had a .483 OBP, and scored 8 times. All while playing
Ex/Ex defense in spacious CF.
Very, very close and enjoyable series. If not for that wild pitch in Game 3, the series
most likely would’ve been decided in completely different fashion. Credit to Dusty for
building an exciting team and netplaying an epic series in a single night.
What a difference a year makes. The Expos go from lovable underdogs to American League
