Game 4@OAK: Oakland sends their own rookie to the mound this game, as Erasmo Ramirez takes
on original Brewer Adam Wainwright making his first appearance of the postseason and
looking to make his mark. Both pitchers do a bang up job through the early part of the
game and the 6th inning begins with the game scoreless. The Brewers finally crack Erasmo's
armour, opening the scoring with a Belt walk, a Cespedes single and a 2 out Ramirez double
that scores both of them as the inning ends with Maybin gunning down Aramis at 3rd trying
to stretch it into more. The As respond immediately though, getting a single from
Keppinger, a double from Alonso and then back to back sac flies from McCutchen and Beltre
to tie the game at 2. The Brewers go quietly in the top of the 7th and Wainwright gets the
benefit of the doubt and starts the bottom of the inning. Morales greets him with a single
to left and is lifted for a pinch runner. Barmes moves him to 2nd with a 1 out sac bunt
which completely caught me by surprise, but paid off when Maybin came through with a 2 out
hit and scored him with a double to right. Wainwright is finally pulled and Janssen gives up
a single to Keppinger which scores Maybin, hanging a 4th run on Wainwright. But the Brewers
get something going in the 8th, making 2 quick outs before Affeldt and Crain walk the bases
loaded. Ramirez is unable to come through though, and Ogando closes the game out in the 9th
to put the Brew Crew on the ropes and give themselves a chance to clinch and celebrate a
championship at home in game 5.
