Ive had quite a few battles with Keith Jackson's Boston Red Sox, and he's one of the
nicest guys around, so is always a good time. This has to go down as our most hard
fought battles---
Game 1 Greinke (21-5 3.18) vs CC Sabathia (15-10 2.93)
This looked to be a pitching duel, and these aces didn't disappoint. Oakland got on
the board first in the bottom of the third inning thanks to a defensive miscue by CF
Justin Upton. Boston came back with two of their own in the top of the fifth courtesy
of a two run single from Boston shortstop Alcides Escobar... It remained 2-1 Boston
into the bottom of the 7th. Adrian Beltre led off the bottom half with a deep home run
to left, and DH Kendrys Morales made it back to back blasts with a shot to right,
giving Oakland back the lead 3-2. Oakland's bullpen were effective in holding the lead
(combo of Jesse Crain, Jeremy Affeldt, Louis Coleman setting up Alexi Ogando)
