Game 4 – @ Chicago – CJ Wilson vs Jason Hammel (12-9; 4.06)
Nats leave 2 on base in 1st (kind of a theme for the series). Sox don’t score
(for once) in the 1st, but grab a 1-0 lead in the 2nd. It could’ve been worse,
but they leave bases loaded. Nats tie it in 3rd, on a Sanchez rbi-single. Wilson
settles down, and is cruising along until 6th. After walking Youkilis and Ortiz,
he got Andruw to ground into DP to end threat though. Nats leave 2 more on in 7th.
In bottom of 9th, Sox had winning run on 3rd, but Benoit struck out Snider to end
inning. Nats leave 2 more on in 10th. Benoit still on mound in 11th. He strikes out
Youk & Ortiz, but Ethier gets him with a walk-off HR. Crowd goes nuts ... Pale Hose
get the unlikely sweep.
Thanks to Shaun for being a great sport in what must have been a very disappointing
NetPlay session. As he noted, his team has almost zero clutch hits (he left 36
runners on base, to my 28).
