Game 4 - SF
Vogelsong (NY) vs McDonald (SF)
McDonald helps his own cause with an RBI in the bottom of the second to gets Giants in
front. Vogelsong helps his own cause with a single in the top of the third, eventually
coming around to score with Bourn on a two-out Montero single. McDonald leads off the
bottom of the 5th with a double and comes around to score on a Kemp single, tying the
game 2-2. The starters, tired by their base-running efforts, are both chased mid-game.
The bullpens hold the hitters down until the top of the 9th, when Aybar reaches base
on a David Wright error and comes around to score on a Ramirez single. With the Giants
needing a run to tie things up in the bottom of the frame, Ordonez reaches base on an
Aybar errror. Campana pinch runs and promptly steals second base. Gload reaches base
and Campana goes to third base on a Cabrera error and the Mets are reeling. Jose Reyes
singles home Campana and we are tied at 3-3 and going to extra innings. The Mets get
four singles and a walk of Heath Bell in the top of the 10th to take a 6-3 lead.
O'Flaherty, having blown the save in the bottom of the 9th, stays on to pitch the 10th
and get the win. Mets win 6-3 and send us back to New Your for the deciding game 5.
